The Principal Minister Mr.Wallace Cosgrow, Minister for Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Blue Economy Education along with Mr. Alain de Comarmond Secretary of State for Fisheries and the Blue Economy recently met with the Dr. Zarau Wendeline Kibwe, World Bank Group Executive Director for Seychelles, and Mr. Bertrand Belle, the World Bank’s Lead Advisor for Small States.
The discussions focused around the government policies, Seychelles’ current challenges especially the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and priority such as access to financing and other needs under the portfolio. It was agreed that potential financing mechanisms and arrangements and technology transfer that will be beneficial to the private sector in the further development of the fisheries and agricultural sectors will be explored. Both parties agreed to a further mission of the Bank to carry out a diagnostic study on the agreed priority areas.
