The Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Blue Economy yesterday met with world-renowned marine biologist, professional free diver, and shark conservationist Ms. Ocean Ramsey and her team accompanied by her collaborator for her visit in Seychelles, the Danny Faure Foundation to discuss about general ocean-related issues particularly related to sharks, her area of expertise.
In a meeting led by the Secretary of State for Fisheries and Blue Economy accompanied by senior economist Ms. Maggie Moustache, Ms. Ramsey briefed the Ministry on her mission in Seychelles and her efforts in the area of ocean conservation and certain potential areas for collaboration including education and awareness programs for children and the youth, shark tourism and other policy matters related to shark fishery were discussed. At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Ramsey and her team also interacted with Principal Minister and Minister for Fisheries, Agriculture and Blue Economy Mr. Wallace Cosgrow.
