The Aquaculture Department has launched its first educational comic book titled “Zak – Adventure in Aquaculture.” The launch took place this morning at the National Library, attended by the Minister for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Jean-François Ferrari, French Ambassador Olivia Berkeley Christmann,the Chief Executive Officer of Seychelles Fisheries Authority and other distinguished guests.
This comic book, aimed at a younger audience, allows the Aquaculture Department to share its message about aquaculture with primary school students.
During the launch, Minister Ferrari congratulated the department on this initiative, noting it as another achievement of the Seychelles Fisheries Authority. He emphasized the authority’s commitment to becoming an educational institution that teaches the younger generation about sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and other ways to develop our food resources.
The 20-page comic book was conceptualized by artists Peter Lalande and Veroniqua Uzice-Alphonse, with funding from the European Union.
