Public Awareness Materials

Use these awareness materials to learn more about animal rights, owner responsibility, registration, and sterilization.

The Importance of Sterilization

Sterilization, also referred to as spaying for females and neutering for males, supports population control, disease prevention, and a better quality of life for animals.

Population Control

Sterilization helps prevent overpopulation, reduces stray populations, and eases pressure on shelters by reducing unplanned litters and abandoned animals.

Disease Control

Spaying and neutering can reduce certain cancer risks, help prevent sexually transmitted diseases in animals, and reduce roaming or mating-related risks.

Better Quality of Life

Sterilized animals may live longer and healthier lives, are often calmer, and may be easier to train and care for, helping strengthen the human-animal bond.
